It is a little sad knowing that I will be saying goodbye to my son, Atom, this Monday. He has spent pretty much all summer with me and it has been fun!
Don't get me wrong, there have been a few rough patches... Mostly. though, it has been a great experience for him.
Originally I am from California, born and raised but found myself in Austin, TX for work for several years. When it came time to move back to California I took Atom with me on a cross-country road trip.
We went west, through Texas from I-10 West to 285 North all the way up through Pecos and Carlsbad and then Roswell, NM, where we spent several hours checking that place out. Then on to the 40 West. Once on the 40 West we went through Albuquerque, NM and Flagstaff, AZ to Williams, AZ and hit up the Meteor Crater.
From there we went onto California and had dinner in Barstow, CA at Bob's Big Boy.
All in all it was a fun Dad / Son excursion!!!
Once we arrived here it was time for both of us to learn about living with 3 girls... That's right, the love of my life has 3 great kids too!! 2 Girls (8 and 9) and a 4 year old son. To say that it has been an adjustment in an understatement but it has totally been worth it.
Well, time to head out to Krav Maga, an Israeli Martial Art, at my Gym.
Oh and I will see Atom again, soon. Once she moves out I will start my ever other weekend routine. I just hope that she can meet me halfway or at least Los Angeles... we will see :)
Until next time True Believers!!!
